This is a list of proposed projects for my portfolio site. Under each project is a brief description for the project. The project may be launched in a new window from the project title.

Columbus Across Time
Goals:
To conceptualize and develop a storyline for a non-linear narrative and stroyboard. To integrate interactive experiences within the narrative to create an immersive user experience (experimental and experiental). The information is presented in a way that the user will need to draw their own conclusion.To intrigue the user to seek further information and to engage in debate around the issue.
Target Audience
High school students and those interested in histroy with a moderate level of internet skill. Those willing to explore a site for information to increaise ther own experience with the information presented.
Design
Scripted typography and old scroll imagery is used for that "old historical" feel. The opening FLASH movie sets the tone for the experience, the journey. The experience is user directed. Audio is used to present interesting and conflicting points of view. Text is used to present historical information.
Technology
Flash MX, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Audacity (sound editor)
Relevance
Research skills, design concept and production. Presentation of educational material. Content development. Present material in a way that fosters critical thinking.

Usability Study
Goals:
Present compelling experience tojustify proposed changed to the Art Institute of Atlnata corporate site based on usability testing, focus groups, heuristics, and paper prototype testing.
Target Audience
Art Instittue of Atlanta corporate offices interested in the performance and user experience of the site.
Information Architecture
Present supporting documentation in text, video and graphs to display problem areas with the site as well as successful areas. Allows the user to receive the information in different formats other than text.
Design
Design concept is directed at the target audience. Use of FLASH allows for quick display of videio. Using a flash "viewer" to show actual footage and testing results is an effective method of sharing important information regarding the users' exoperience with the site, using the Art Institute's branding.

Flash, Ulead (film editing), Camtasia (click tracking), MS word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat,VISIO
Relevance
Stress the inportance of user-centered design. Show ability to create and evaluate usability testing and focus group materials. Display ability to lead focus groups and to facilitate usability testing. Exhibit strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills. Diplomatic approach to presenting undesireable material to a client tof defend design and structure recommendations. Experience with analysis, interviewing, focus groups and requirements gathering. Understanding of user interface design, interactive design and web usability.

Themed Media Player
Goals:
Conceptualize a theme and design an interface to present different media around that theme. Utilize Acrionscript to create dynamic interactive FLASH interface. Entertainment

Dynamic presentation of photos, video and music.
Design
Design concept is based on the family experience of the Christmas holiday.
Technology
FLASH MX, XHTML
Relevance
Concept implementation. The skills acquired and displayed can be transferred to display other materials in an interesting and interactive manner. (Learning Object) Media players can be used to introduce and investigate a variety of subjects for example – an interactive museum.

Key Seeker Sr. Project
Goals:
To assist children (age 5) with learning the keyboard. Matching letters on the screen to the keyboard using left hand for corresponding letters on the left hand side of keyboard/right hand for corresponding letters on the right hand side of the keyboard.
Target Audience
Kindergarten children, Cobb County School District, teachers, technology integration specialists
Information Architecture
Conducted heuristics research for children, educational approach, learning theory, element of practice (paired associative learning).
Design
Incorporate animation and sound to assist in learning process. If a child is interested in the fun, they will spend more time on the “game” and achieve mastery of the material. Using a character to provide audio instructions. Incorporate audio into navigation, provide safe fun environment for activity to take place.

Relevance
Ability to conduct research to understand problem, goals, and learning theory. Find a creative solution to a problem and implement that solution. Work with a client and subject matter experts to meet the goals of the client, the target audience, and technical requirements and restrictions. Provide quality product for educational purposes. Ability to define scope and sequence. Responsible for project from concept to completion. Strong presentation skills.

Case Study for Web Site Production a project manager's perspective
Goals:
Explain the site production process and the role the project manager played in the sites production. Uses a simple problem/solution approach to te various production stages. I wanted to share my experience as a project manager and to communicate my problem solving abilities.
Target Audience
Those interested in the process of producing a web site with a team. Those interested in the project manager's role. This might aslo be a useful tool for anyone teaching about team production.
Information Architecture
Information rich site set up in a linear fashion. Explains the steps involved in site production.
Design
Straight forward linear navigation. Has somewhat of a corporate or informational feel to the site. The site is text heavy and benefits from clean simple design.
Technology
HTML, CSS, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Relevance
Served as project manager for the team. Responsible for documentation, motivation, scheduling, meeting deadlines, quality assurance, usability testing, client interaction and communication, content inventory and content management. Submitted design comp, competitive analysis (one of four sites analyzed), site map, methodology for project. Conducted meetings as necessary to keep project on target and on time. Learn and apply standards and guidelines. Exhibit strong interpersonal and verbal skills. Understanding of user interface design, interactive design and web usability. Primary contact for client interaction.
